John founded Latimer Driver Training on 1st February 2025, following nearly 4 years with a local franchise as co-director, and nearly 7 years with a national franchise. During this time John has worked with many different learners from the most confident, to those who may find learning to drive challenging. John gained his ORDIT qualification in 2016 enabling him to train driving instructors, and has seen many go on to be successful instructors. More recently he has gained his NDORS licence which enables him to provide services via a contracting company to conduct police rehabilitation courses. With a career pass rate of over 65% John prides himself on his high standards. In 2023 John received the Silver Award in the East Midlands area for the Intelligent Instructor Driving Instructor of the year awards, also being nominated int the Top 100 in 2024 and 2025 awards.
Latimer Driver Training currently offer driving lessons in Northamptonshire, primarily in the Burton Latimer, Kettering, Finedon, and Wellingborough areas. We are also able to cover the areas south of Wellingborough including, Rushden, Higham Ferrers, Irchester, Wollaston, Olney, and Emberton in our expanding business. On driving lessons, we focus on learning to drive safely, as if you do so you should pass your driving test comfortably. We encourage learners to put themselves at the centre of the learning process, and we certainly do our best to ensure that this happens, with encouragement and support. Of course if you don’t know the answer to something we are always here to give advice and guidance. Of course you will make a few mistakes, however we are here to keep you safe, and help you reflect on any issues and find ways to overcome them. Building your confidence and skills, is our primary goal helping you to achieve yours which is to pass your driving test and become a safe driver for life.
